Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of BlackLight Radio. In the past, BlackLightRadio.com has been little more than a placeholder for the link to our live audio feed. If you bookmarked our LoudCity page, there was little reason to come here unless you needed to know when a show was on or our email address.
Starting today, however, BlackLightRadio.com becomes a repository for all things 80s: artist updates, album & movie reviews, concert info, & our personal memories of living in the 80s.
We’d love to have you be a part of the new BlackLight Radio! If you have a story to share about something related to the 80s, a song, album, artist or concert review, or even “insider info” on the movies, music or fashion of the 80s, please let us know. On the other hand, if something we post makes you think of something, please comment below the story… we’ll love hearing from you, and about your 80s experiences.
If you have any problems with the site, whether it is finding something or if you click on a link and it doesn’t do what you expect it to, please drop us a line & let us know; we want to make your visits to BlackLightRadio.com as enjoyable as possible… and hope you’ll return regularly to read updates!
We encourage you to follow us on Twitter, like us on Facebook, & listen to our live music stream 24/7. Don’t forget to bookmark BlackLightRadio.com before you leave today, too!
Our goal is to be all-things 80s. We lived this decade. We watched MTV. We wore OP’s, Izods, & Vans. We bought “Purple Rain” when the vinyl first hit the record store shelves. We wept when the Challenger exploded, and we cheered when the Berlin Wall fell. We respect the music, the culture, & the children of the 80s… because that’s who we are, too. Don’t look for “totally awesome updates!” or “Tubular tales,” or anything “pseudo-80s.”
We were there. Whether you were there, or wish you had been there, we want to take you back to all the color, the energy, & the pure, raw fun that made up the years from 1980 to 1989. There was never a decade quite like the 80s; we’ll work to keep that feeling alive, here, on BlackLight Radio!
